The tradition and pride of The Bellevue Redmen run very deep in our community. We welcome all visitors to our site and hope that if you are not already a Redmen that you will consider making Bellevue the place that you will choose to live, raise your family, or educate your children.
The Bellevue City School District has been rated Excellent on the 2010-11 local report card. The district met 25 of 26 indicators, raising their rating from Effective in 2009-10 to Excellent. All indicators except 5th grade math were met. “The district will be working very hard to form a plan to address the 5th grade math indicator and target this area for improvement.” The graduation rate and attendance rate exceeded the state standards. “The teachers, staff and students in our district have worked extremely hard and their commitment to our district goals has paid off”. The district has established a district leadership team which analyzes data and writes goals for the district based on the data. Each building in the district also has a building leadership team which focuses on specific building level data. The district also met adequate yearly progress and had a performance index score of 99.4. “I am extremely proud of our staff for their dedication to each individual student in our school district. Everyone is working towards the same goals, with the success of every student being our top priority.”
The excitement of new construction is in the air in Bellevue. Two brand new school buildings are scheduled to break ground in the spring of 2011. The new Middle School, housing grades 6-8 and new Elementary School, housing Preschool through 5th Grade, are both scheduled to be open in August 2012. Our district will then be comprised of three school buildings. We currently serve 2100 students and cover approximately 115 square miles in our district.
The district is dedicated to student academic success, post secondary opportunities, and career readiness. The early childhood team works with children, families, and community organizations to prepare students for kindergarten readiness. The elementary schools are organized by grade level, giving teachers the opportunity to share resources, ideas and provide interventions specific to individual student needs. NWEA MAP testing is used to provide student data to give teachers the information needed to provide specific instructional strategies based on student need. Bellevue Middle School focuses on the team concept at each grade level, offering much needed individualized attention to students. Bellevue High School has grades 9-12 and offers courses for everyone. BHS currently offers courses for college credit through the University of Findlay and Terra Technical College. Students interested in a career technical path have the opportunity to attend EHOVE Career Center.
Bellevue High School and Bellevue Middle School offers many extra curricular opportunities for students. Our top-notch programs and facilities provide our students with an array of sports, clubs and activities to meet every interest. In addition to our excellent athletic, music and fine arts programs we are also very proud of our state recognized vocational agriculture and family career community leadership programs.
We hope that you will look into what The Bellevue City School District can offer you in the way of academic excellence and extra curricular interests. We look forward to serving our current Redmen and welcoming new Redmen to our school district.
