RENEWAL on November Ballot
The Bellevue City School district will be asking voters to RENEW an existing levy at the polls in November. The district has worked extremely hard to become as efficient as possible. We have reduced general fund expenditures in an effort to remain solvent. Reducing expenditures has eliminated the need to request new operating money from the taxpayers. The chart indicates that 63.66 total positions have been reduced since the 2008-09 school year. The district has cut 16% of certified staff, 16% of classified staff and 19% of administrative staff over a ten year period. Here are the facts about the upcoming levy renewal:
- RENEWAL of the existing $1,350,000 Emergency Levy for operating expenses for a 10 year period
- No New Taxes
- In the midst of the economic downfall and instability in state funding the district continues to operate within the current budget with no additional funds for operating
- The school district is extremely appreciative to the community for their support! There is a strong commitment to continue to operate efficiently and be good stewards of the taxpayer’s money.
