Spanish
Currently we are studying Spanish. We kicked off the first 9 weeks by learning the history behind how language has developed through creating our own phrases with the use of only pictures representing word sounds. We will soon be starting our first project here soon. Students will be choosing and researching Spanish-speaking countries and preparing to be the professor by sharing their findings with the class.
From there we will be practicing converstaions about birthdays, how people are doing, how old people are, what their names are, and the date. Students will be choosing a new Spanish name that they will use in class for the entire first 9 weeks.
Keep an eye out for our first holiday celebration on October 31st where we will be having a fiesta to celebrate 'Dia de los Muertos'

French
We will be studying French during the second 9 weeks of the first semester. Students will begin their study of French by completing their second project - researching and teaching us about a French-speaking country of their choice. From there vocabulary and skills for communication will follow through the use of various songs and games. We will celebrate our second holiday of the semester by learning about how French-speaking countries celebrate Christmas. Our fete for French will take place on December 21st so mark your calendars!
