Miss B's Science for Sixth Grade
We will be covering all three areas of Science this year--Earth, Life, and Physical. We will start with Earth Science (Unit D). This unit will focus on changes to the Earth's crust and the rock cycle. We will begin Life Science (Unit B) sometime in November. In Life Science, we will be learning all about cells, reproduction, and heredity. We are hoping to get to Physical Science (Units E & F) in February or March. That's where we start talking about matter, and end up discussing fun things like motion and energy.

Throughout the 6th grade year, the students will be learning to use the scientific method, and incorporating technology and hands-on experiments in their learning.

What's Going on in Sixth Grade Science?
This week the students are taking their tests over "Chapter 8: How Earth Changes Over Time". Any student who earns a "D" or an "F" on the test will have the opportunity to make corrections to the test to raise his/her score.

We will be beginning "Chapter 3: From Cells to Organisms" by the end of the week.
