First Grade Rules We discussed our First Grade Classroom Rules and the consequences for breaking the rules. In our classroom, we will be using the same guidelines as in Kindergarten. We have a large pocket chart and every child has a set of colored paper fish in his/her pocket. The 1st fish in every child's pocket is GREEN! Behind the GREEN fish in each pocket are the following colors of fish (in this order): YELLOW, AQUA, & RED. |
It is my hopes that at the end of each day, each child will still have a GREEN fish showing at the front of his/her pocket. In case that behavior problems arise, the GREEN fish will be pulled from the pocket and the YELLOW fish will be showing. The YELLOW fish indicates that a "warning" was given for undesirable behavior. If the YELLOW fish is pulled-the AQUA fish will be showing which indicates that your child visited the principal's office. If the AQUA fish is pulled, the RED fish will be showing which indicates that your child visited the principal's office again and you will be contacted. If your child has a GREEN fish in his/her pocket at the end of the day means "Keep up the Good Work!" If your child doesn't earn a GREEN fish at the end of the day, I will write you a short note explaining "why". Hopefully, we will have a very GREEN year!! Thank you for your time and patience, Susan Brutsche |
