Welcome to the Bellevue High School website.  Bellevue High School has a rich history and traditions that date back to 1870, when the first graduating class participated in commencement.  Hard work and pride are the cornerstones of that great tradition and history.  I am proud of our staff and students and I am proud and excited to have the opportunity to work with each of them every day.  The staff and students never cease to amaze me whether in the classroom or on the field of play.  They are dedicated to the school district and represent it well.

Bellevue High School was rated excellent on the 2010 - 11 Ohio Department of Education Local Report Card.  That was the fifth year in a row for the excellent rating.  It is our goal to continue the excellent rating and to rise to the excellent with distinction rating.  One strategy to help us rise to the excellent with distinction level is through our involvement with High Schools That Work.  HSTW is a school improvement initiative that provides professional development opportunities related to ten key practices that schools can choose to focus on.  Those key practices are always in the forefront of our day to day decisions.

The students of Bellevue High School are very active in the community.  Many of our clubs and athletic teams are involved in community service activities.  From fundraising, collecting canned goods, and providing services, our students are very busy in the Bellevue community.  Our staff and students know the importance of such activities and are proud and excited to provide them to the community.

Together, we can continue to provide a well rounded education for our students.  Bellevue High School has a tradition of excellence that I am committed to continuing.  I am looking forward to the great future that we all have in the Bellevue City School District.

FAFSA Completion Help Available

As students apply to colleges and celebrate their acceptances, the University System of Ohio reminds them to fill out their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  The U.S. Department of Education (USDOE) has set up a process to help students pay for college, and it starts with filing the FAFSA.  The USDOE allocates billions of dollars in federal aid to students.  FAFSA is the primary tool used to determine eligibility for federal and state financial aid, as well as aid from many colleges and universities.  The University System of Ohio has a video on its website to help families complete the FAFSA.  It provides tips and advice for filling out and filing the FAFSA.  The www.OhioHigherEd.org website also features a fact sheet about the FAFSA that answers potential questions.
