The Bellevue City School District was rated Effective on the 2009-10 Ohio Department of Education local report card. Our district is constantly striving to create new opportunities for excellence for our students. Bellevue High School and Bellevue Middle School were both rated Excellent on the local report card, while our Elementary School was rated Effective, the two highest ratings that school districts can receive in Ohio.
The excitement of new construction is in the air in Bellevue. Two brand new school buildings are scheduled to break ground in the spring of 2011. The new Middle School, housing grades 6-8 and new Elementary School, housing Preschool through 5th Grade, are both scheduled to be open in August 2012. Our district will then be comprised of three school buildings. We currently serve 2100 students and cover approximately 115 square miles in our district.
The district is dedicated to student academic success, post secondary opportunities, and career readiness. The early childhood team works with children, families, and community organizations to prepare students for kindergarten readiness. The elementary schools are organized by grade level, giving teachers the opportunity to share resources, ideas and provide interventions specific to individual student needs. NWEA MAP testing is used to provide student data to give teachers the information needed to provide specific instructional strategies based on student need. Bellevue Middle School focuses on the team concept at each grade level, offering much needed individualized attention to students. Bellevue High School has grades 9-12 and offers courses for everyone. BHS currently offers courses for college credit through the University of Findlay and Terra Technical College. Students interested in a career technical path have the opportunity to attend EHOVE Career Center.
Bellevue High School and Bellevue Middle School offers many extra curricular opportunities for students. Our top-notch programs and facilities provide our students with an array of sports, clubs and activities to meet every interest. In addition to our excellent athletic, music and fine arts programs we are also very proud of our state recognized vocational agriculture and family career community leadership programs.
We hope that you will look into what The Bellevue City School District can offer you in the way of academic excellence and extra curricular interests. We look forward to serving our current Redmen and welcoming new Redmen to our school district.
