The Common Craft videos are great for easily explaining any new web 2.0 tools. They are very helpful and easy to follow to use the tools. Unfortunately TeacherTube is blocked in our consortium of school districts because there is no one to supervise or screen all of the postings for inappropriate materials. However, at home you may want to click on one of the videos and try it. Most of these videos are great for teachers and students, but please be cautious. **They can also be accessed through www.teachertube.com by searching 'in plain english'. |

| I know that our school mainly uses PC's, but the Apple (MAC) website has great ideas and instructions on podcasting and other ways to use technology. |

Wiki is a new web 2.0 tool that incorporates the read-write web. It is similar to a webpage, but you can interact and edit the page. Some pages can be locked so that no one can edit. Anyone can create one without formal training and they are free. Many schools are using them as interactive teaching tools for discussion and writing, try the one from the link above. However in our consortium of school districts, most wikis, including wikipedia are filtered because anyone can contribute anonymous things which may be inappropriate. Our technology director plans to implement our own supervised version in the future. For now, you may have to look at these at home to see other examples. The most common wiki sites are: www.pbwiki.com, www.wetpaint.com, www.wikispaces.com
**Another wiki link which is blocked at school is using pbwiki, which is used at Bowling Green High School (Mrs. Atwood).http://mrsatwood.pbwiki.com/
Take a look at these guidelines on the use of wikis: http://digiteen.wikispaces.com/Digital+Law#toc6
