Course Description |
Buying, marketing, and fashion design are exciting careers in today's world. Get a head start with this career and learn the beginnings of this particular world of work. In this course, the student will learn the history of dress and the future of our wardrobes and fabrics. Skills related to buying and selling in the retail business will be covered. Innovative construction skills will be learned by doing in-class sewing projecs.

Supplies Needed |
Supplies to be purchased over the course of the semester:
~ 3-ring binder (type you can slip a paper in the front) ~ 1 yard “woven” fabric with a right and wrong side (to construct sewing samples)
~ T-shirt for tie dying (must be at least 60% cotton)
~ T-shirt or some similar article for 'iron on' project
~ Cake for airbrushing
~ Pattern and supplies for constructing a couple of garments
