My Mission: To provide the necessary structure, environment, and instruction needed for each individual student's academic need(s). To introduce students to behavior that is appropriate and to create an understanding within each student of behavior that is appropriate and behavior that is not appropriate.
Resource Room Environment: The resource room is a place where we want the students to feel at ease and enjoy attending, but at the same time, the resource room will be very structured with behavioral and academic expectations that will be known by each student, teacher, and staff.
Expectatons of the Student: Students will learn to conduct himself/herself in a manner that is appropriaye, not only in the school setting, but for any social setting the student may find themselves in. Students will gain an understanding of their individual reason(s) for needing resource room accommodations. Students will gain an understanding of what is considered appropriate behavior and what is considered inappropriate behavior. Students will gain an understanding that there is reaction to every action. Students will experience consequences for their actions - positive consequences for positive actions and negative consequences for negative actions.
Expectations of the Teacher/Staff: To treat each individual student in an equal, appropriate manner. To have an understanding of each individual student's need(s) and to interact with each student accordingly. To provide academic instruction to fit each student's learning style - instruction that is challenging with attainable success. To provide praise, encouragement and positive consequences for positive behavior and academic success. To provide positive redirection for behavior that is inappropriate in a fair and understanding way. To provide consequences that sre consistent and directly related to the imappropriate behavior.
