| My name is Mrs. Winthrop, and I teach fifth grade Language Arts which includes Reading, Language, and Spelling. This year we are focusing on vocabulary and reading fluency. We are using some fun methods for remembering vocabulary. We draw pictures for each word, play charades with the words, and do word ladders which are games that build on vocabulary and spelling skills. I also believe the more a child reads, the better reader he or she becomes. I encourage parents to have their child read 15-30 minutes per night. |
