The Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee are accepting applications for their apprenticeship every first and third " working" Wednesday of the month from 2-4 PM at the IBEW Hall located at 6100 S. FirstEnergy Offers Utility Training at Community Colleges FirstEnergy Corp. announced recently that its subsidiaries, Ohio Edison and Toledo Edison, will be partnering with Owens Community College to reinstate its utility line and substation worker training program. Owens Community College will  be providing technical coursework for the two-year Power Systems Institute (PSI), while hands-on utility skills will be provided at Edison training facilities. Graduates from the program will receive an Associate of Applied Science degree with a focus on electric power utility technology.  For more information visit 

The Ohio Career Exploration Internship Program is designed to help Ohio high school students explore potential careers.  Through an internship, students have the opportunity to explore all aspects of a profession and gain better understanding of the training needed to enter a career field. This is a partnership-driven program between a business and a student.  Working together, the student and business identify the goals of the internship and complete an online application.  Once the application is approved by the Ohio Development Services Agency, the internship can begin.  Upon completion of the internship, the business and student complete a final report outlining the achievements of the internship.  For more information about the program, click on this link:

The Sandusky Sailing Club offers a Junior Sail Camp program which is an ideal opportunity for students to have a unique and exciting summer camp experience.  For more information go to

 "Connections" Parent Support Group is a safe place for parents to share their grief and find the tools to live with their unimaginable loss.  The sessions are free and open to the public and are held on the 1st Tuesday of each month from 6-7:30 PM at the Eliza Ramsay Home at 430 S. Be a Bellevue Hospital VolunTeen The Bellevue Hospital (TBH) is looking for teenagers interested in becoming VolunTeens at the local facility. The program is for students 14-18 years old.  Those interested need to pick up, complete, and return an application. Reach Our Youth (ROY) is a big brother/big sister type program in Huron County.  ROY is in need of teen volunteers ages 16 and older to work with young boys and girls (ages 6-12) in need of a mentor.  Applicants must make a 6-month commitment to visit a child 3-4 times per month.  Applications are available in the guidance office.  If you have additional questions, contact Sarah Simmons at 419-663-2525 ext. 238.
