Occupation:
I am a nurse practitioner. I practice full-time in internal medicine in Elmore, Ohio.

Education:
Doctor of Nursing Practice, University of Toledo (2016)
Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, Bowling Green State University (2012)
Associate of Science degree in Nursing, Lorain County Community College (2011)

Years of Board Service:
Appointed to fill vacancy in 2021. Elected to serve full term beginning January 2022.

Why did you want to serve as a board member?
I was appointed to the Board in 2021, amidst the uncertainties of the COVID-19 pandemic. Like so many in our community, I was a parent who wanted to ensure continued apolitical, common sense policy making with our children’s best interests at forefront. Former superintendent Mrs. Kim Schubert’s decisive leadership was instrumental in navigating our district through the pandemic, and I remain proud of how our district led its COVID-19 response in education.

Shortly after my Board appointment, Mrs. Schubert announced her retirement from the superintendency. One of the most important roles of a school board is to hire a superintendent, and Mrs. Schubert's retirement left us with big shoes to fill. I understood that the hiring of a superintendent is a decision that could affect the trajectory of Bellevue City Schools and our community for years to come, and that is largely why I decided to run for a full-term beginning in 2022. It was an honor to represent our community in the process that eventually led to the hiring of current superintendent Mr. Troy Roth, who has already proven a continued course of intent, integrity, and purpose for Bellevue City Schools.

Other activities:
I enjoy spending time with my husband Andy, and our four children: Colton, Kami, Nora, and Julian. We are members of Immaculate Conception Church. I enjoy staying fit and active.  My favorite thing to do is watch my children participate in their extra-curricular activities.  I love a good Redmen or Lady Red game!

Favorite Part of Serving on the Board:
My favorite part of serving on the Board is being witness to the people and the work of the district.  In my experience thus far, I can unequivocally say that Bellevue City Schools is served by a Board who harbor no self-interests, an unparalleled superintendent and treasurer, a passionate administration team, and tireless educators and staff.  To me as a parent and professional, the people and work being done within this school district is nothing short of inspiring.  It is a privilege to witness the success of our students because of it.
